What is Frühschoppen? Frühschoppen began in rural areas of Germany and Austria, taking place on Sundays in a tavern (Wirtshaus) at the perpetually reserved table "Stammtisch" and attended by men only. During Frühschoppen, folk may discuss everyday life and politics. However, times have changed and Frühschoppen today has become an event for the entire family.
Frühschoppen is held the fourth Sunday of each month from January through August, except May.
